Wind turbines create electricity by converting kinetic energy into usable mechanical energy. In addition to reducing costs on the Reservation, wind turbines create a more diverse energy portfolio and reduce reliance upon imported fossil fuels. Wind power allows the Spokane Tribe of Indians to conform to energy independent practices while sustaining precious natural resources.
